Our roots are deep in Iowa.
about us
Heart of Iowa: Built on Service
Since our founding on February 19, 1958, Heart of Iowa has been committed to keeping communities connected. Originally established as the South Hardin Rural Telephone Cooperative, we were formed through the merger of Union Cooperative Telephone Company and New Providence Cooperative Telephone Company – bringing crank-style phones and operator-assisted service to rural Iowa.
From the 1960s through the early 2000s, we expanded steadily, acquiring additional exchanges and growing into the go-to provider we are today.
